I am behind on this blog because I forgot to think about “I am.” But today, a good friend was telling me about the book, The Power of I Am by Joel Osteen. It’s so easy to get caught up the things that drive our society, the flashing lights, the busy streets, the endless things one can go do or buy. But the challenge is to not forget about who you are, what makes you tick, what “I am.”
When I started this blog and website almost a year ago, I was in the process of a major transformation in my life, going from the victim of everything to the get-r-done of what I thought was impossible. I had (and still have) intentions and excitement to motivate people to accomplish the things on their whiteboard or bucket list too.
Motivation comes from all kinds of places and people; I hope that my site helps one or many go after that thing that has been buried by the day in and day out stuff too. Sadly though, my own motivation, my own “I am” was getting buried, and buried quicly. It’s just so easy to get lost in the things you don’t have or don’t get or don’t know. And walking down this path is lonely and eventually dark.
My excuses: I’ve been building a new closet in the master bedroom, still remodeling the basement (we’ve decided and have the plans to build the bathroom in the basement), trying to keep the container garden alive, traveling, camping, go-go-go! Looking at this list, all those things… I can write about and be creative in all the while. But did not make it important enough.

The power of telling yourself that “I am a good person,” “I am going to have a good day,” “I am talented,” has helped me today in restarting this blog and the things that make me tick.
So my message to you, is to ask you what makes you tick inside? What makes you smile from the inside out? That one thing or couple things. I believe that this thing we all have is possible to do just about anywhere. I am good at drawing. I am good at being creative. And so, I’ll be packing my sketchbook in my bag again to draw, be creative, write for this blog.
I encourage you to find your “I am…” statement and then start doing it. One time leads to a next time and a next. You can do it!
This was very good Sunny! I am happy to see you try to keep who you are alive and well. You are such an interesting person and I am happy to call you my friend. Thank you for this blog and keep it up. We need to keep being reminded of who I Am. Can’t wait to see your sketches.

I was just thinking about your blog the other day and wondering if you’d put it on the back burner. Glad to see you’re back at it and keeping the positive energy out front, and especially happy you’re going to spend more time with your art. Congratulations.
